Good morning everybody. You are currently listening to a Tall Girls podcast hosted by a tall girl named India. I hope everyone who's tuning in today is doing super fantastic. Before I get into this episode, I do want to say make sure you're following me on my socials at a Tall Girls podcast on Instagram, TikTok, and pinches, so that you could stay up to date on all of the latest podcast episodes and catch a glimpse of my every day life. Also, feel free to leave your review and let me know how tall you are. I'm genuinely curious. All the information is going to be linked in the description. Christmas is literally days away, like days away. By the time this is up, it will probably be in two days. Isn't that insane? I honestly don't know where the time has gone. And living in New York City, it is absolutely insane over here. Anytime I try to go to Manhattan, I try to go into the city, it is crowded. I'm talking the traffic is horrible. Oh my gosh. A couple nights ago, I was driving back from the city with my friend and when I tell you, it took me forty minutes just to get from my destination to a highway that's literally a ten minute drive away, like I'm not even joking. And on top of that, in the streets where there's like traffic lights, like the normal regular streets, there were people directing traffic and they were doing such a bad job that it probably was more congested than if they just had led the traffic light to do their thing. And don't even get me started on the Christmas shopping that I had to do. I went into Macy's. It was crazy, I can say for sure. I definitely got over stimulated. The music was loud, there were so many lights everywhere, people were running all over the place, especially little kids. It's just it's crazy. And on top of dealing with all of that, it's just the stress of thinking about buying these Christmas gifts financially and time wise, but especially financially because you know, I'm a college student, I'm a young adult. Well I'm an adult as a young adult, still an adult, I'm a young person who happens to be an adult, and I'm still trying to get my finances in order. So trying to budget to pay my expenses, budget to save, and also budget to still be able to hang out and then budget to get these Christmas gifts. It can be a lot. I actually saw that some of you guys over on Instagram were planning to not really get much of anything, or not get anything at all for people, And I honestly find that inspiring because there's just this pressure that you have to get people things, especially in America. Maybe it's just an America thing, but there's this pressure that you have to buy gifts for people and buy the most expensive things and buy all the things that they want, which can add up over time, leaving you kind of bankrupt in January, and why would we want to start the new year bankrupt? But to combat that, I made a chart. If you were over on my Instagram, you would see on my story that I posted a literal chart that I made a notion in order to help me budget and get ideas and just plan my spending for the Christmas shopping. Because when I actually asked you guys in one of my older episodes, like what ideas do you have in terms of like budgeting and trying to track my spending and getting Christmas gifts that are affordable and all that, a lot of you guys recommended Excel spreadsheets, and being a business student, I me and Excel ME and XL we're not friends. We're not good friends. So I was like, see, I like the idea. That's smart, on the right track, but what is something that's better for me? And I figured that the chart was good, was a good idea for me, And I don't know, I feel like a little bit less stressed about it because it just helps me visually see like what I'm spending, and it also helpsing visually see like the budget that I set, and it allows me to stay within that budget. And then I also think of ideas beforehand, instead of going into these malls and shopping centers blindly and spending more money than I actually should have spent. Then if I had just known what I was going to get and gotten that in the first place. And some people like to make fun of the chart that I made, but you know, it's screw them, because if it works for me, then it works for me. And speaking of Christmas gifts, as you could probably tell by the title of this episode, you will be talking about Christmas gift ideas. Now. I want to put a little disclaimer in here before I get started with this. You don't need to spend money or lots of money to get people gifts, to get anybody gifts, And I can understand how, especially if it's your kids or your significant other, or your parents or family members or your best friends, that you're gonna want to go all out for them, But the stress that you feel in the long run, and then on top of that, the financial burden that you'll feel on top of that, is not necessarily worth it if you can't afford it. Like if it comes down to buying people gifts or paying your rent, Yes, the harder decision is to end up paying your rent, and you're gonna feel bad in the short term, but it also helps to have an open conversation with those people and just let them know that you're not able to afford it and you can only do what you can do. So I just want to say, it's up to you, it's up to your finances, but if it's just not there, then it's just not there, and you could do the best you can and that is honestly more than enough. And if that person cares about you and loves you and respects you, then they will appreciate the thought that you actually got them something, even though it may not be something that they wanted or expected or something that you hoped to get them. Personally, me and my friends we like to skip out on the gift giving because we're all college students here trying to make it and get our finances in order. So instead we agree to experiences. And these experiences are often low cost or free. So there's always something that you can do. There's always something you could give. It doesn't have to be physical. There's always something you do or give as a Christmas gift or as a gift to a person. Now let's get into this episode. We are going over last minute gift ideas for tall people because, like I said before, Christmas is in two days and some of us have not started shopping yet and we gotta pick it up. Okay. As I've said before, this episode is all about gift ideas for your tall friends. And if you don't have a tall friend, go find one, because tall friends are honestly the best friends to have in your life. Am I right now? The previous years, when I've done gift ideas for your tall friends or gift ideas for tall people, these were jokes. But now I'm serious. I'm getting serious about it. Especially from my last episodes where I would talk about how I was scared to get clothes as gifts from other people, especially family members, because they couldn't find the right size. I figured, you know what, let's stop joking around and let me actually help people out. So if you have a tall family member, a tall daughter, a tall son, tall friend, tall parents, tall whoever, this is your gift guide to getting them an awesome gift. And we're gonna start with clothes. Yes, we're starting with clothes. Now. I know I said in a previous reel and a previous episode to not get tall people any type of clothing, But hear me out, what better way to show your tall bessie that you care than by getting them a pair of jeams that's in the correct size and the correct in scene. Come on, now, there are so many tall brands out there who are working to make the fashion world a more inclusive place. You got elevated closet above the crowd. Go with shoes, kar tall size Jodier. Who else am I missing? Let me know? You can shop from those small businesses who cater to tall women to get your tall friends some clothes that can reach their wrists and ankles, and you can find their size discreetly or indiscreetly. I'm the type of person who has the time likes to go to my friends and family members, will some of them, not all of them, and ask them what do you want for Christmas? You can literally just go up to me and be like, hey, look, I'm gonna get you some clothes for Christmas, Like can you just tell me your side so I could get the right size. Or you can ask them for links of stuff that they want, or you could do it indiscreetly. You know, if you have access to their clothes, you can just go through their clothes and try to get their sides off of their tags. And honestly, that sounds a little creepy. Don't do that. Well. It depends if it's like a sibling or like a parent, or close very close family member or a very close friend. Okay, but if it's something you're not super super close with, I don't know that's a good idea. But either way, it's good to find out their actual size and their actual end seam and get them closed that actually fit them. Now, if you have a tall friend, I'm sure you've heard them complain about pain, back pain, neck pain, knee pain, muscle pain, you name it. And a handheld massagere as a holiday you can definitely help with that. You can find these in a lot of places online. You can find them at Amazon. Amazon literally has everything. You find that Amazon, Walmart, Neiman Marcus, or you just do a quick search on the internet and it will pop up and you'll be able to order it online. And if a hand hel massager is too expensive, then you can also think about getting them like a massage voucher at a spa or a spa voucher, so they can, you know, just loosen up that tension and loosen up any pain that they have. And speaking of pain, while we're on the topic of pain, you can also get them a stretch band. Okay, this is not super popular. I feel like not a lot of people know about these, but stretch bands exist to help people stretch, you know how. Let's say touching your toes. You know how, in gym class, when you're doing the stretches and stuff that make you sit on the floor and you have to go and reach your toes. Some of us can't do that. Because we're not loose enough, we're not flexible enough. It happens, it's whatever. Stretch bands are great and assisting in stretching, And I also think that a search is a good reminder stretch because you know, sometimes stretching can be uncomfortable. Stretch bands make it more pleasurable. Stretch bands make it a little bit easier, and your toll friend will want to stretch more, which can also help them with their pain that they're feeling. You can find these online. You can also find these in sports stores or just regular pharmacies. Some pharmacies do sell those as well, but if not, a quick search on the internet will not hurt you. And still on the topic of pain, some of this pain does come from slouching a lot. Slouching and like very uncomfortable furniture because ultimately we're uncomfortable in our daily lives around the house or anywhere we go for the most part, like the chairs that we sit in, the desks like they can be too low. The chairs just aren't hitting beds aren't long enough. The sinks and the bathrooms and the kitchens are too low. Even the kitchen counters can be too low. It can it can play a big part in our pain. So you could try to look for bed extenders, furniture risers, there, elevated chopping boards, even standing desks. There's a whole range of things of a whole range of different prices. So whatever is in your budget, you can find something that will help that tall person, like an elevated chopping board if you don't have a big budget, or if you do have a bigger budget, maybe a standing desk, something that helps them to be able to stand upright and stand tall without hunching over everything or being uncomfortable in terms of the way that they're sitting or the way that they're standing. And I'm sure you can find this online on Amazon, or you can go to your local I would I don't think like a local pharmacy would have anything like that, but like maybe like a supply store or if you're buy like a Target or Walmart or something like that, I'm pretty sure you can find those there. And honestly, especially if you're shopping for adults, it's just easier to find things that really just help them in their daily lives. It doesn't necessarily have to be relating to them being tall, but anything that just helps them in their daily lives or something that they need eat in their kitchen and their pantry, in their bathroom and their bedroom, stuff like that. But either way, whether or not you get that tall person a gift, I'm sure that they will appreciate you and appreciate your thoughts. So I'm gonna end it here. Those are just a few ideas of what to get your tall friend. And yes, these are actual ideas, These are not just jokes or anything. And I just want to say thank you so so much for tuning in to this episode. I really appreciate it, and I appreciate you as always. Feel free to hit me up on my socials at a Tall Girls podcast.
