Geeeewwwdd morning everybody! Welcome to my official podcast website! I am India, your host of A Tall Girl’s Podcast!

I wanted to start this podcast to share my experiences and tips and advice on that #tallgirllife. Honestly, I figured that I talk SO much about anything related to being tall and I thought “might as well start a podcast on it”. I am glad you're here and I am super excited to be on the journey with you.

Anyways, my name is India and at the time I am writing this I am 19 years old. Yes, I am a college student just trying to navigate my way through this crazy world, especially since we’re currently in the middle of a pandemic. A few things about me: I like to eat, skateboard, and play music.

What It Was Like Growing Up Tall

I’m shocked that I wrote this far and I haven’t even mentioned my height, which is the whole premise of this podcast! I am about 5’10” (5 feet and 10 inches; 178 centimeters; 1.78 meters) and still to this day I manage to be taller than most of the people I am surrounded by, which is not surprising after finding out that the average height of an American woman is 5’4”.

Honestly I probably reached that height when I was 6 years old, who knows. Actually, believe it or not, the first 7 years of my life, I didn’t realize that I was taller than average (compared to my peers of course). I find that when you’re young, you don’t really care about any of that. You just want to have fun with others no matter how big or small that person is.

It wasn’t until 3rd grade when I realized that I was tall because that’s when the students were placed in height order when forming lines. The tallest kids were ALWAYS in the back. Do you remember those days? When teachers would make the students stand in height order? Literally, what was the point of that when you're lining up from recess and then walking into the building. If anything, the taller kids should be in the front so we don’t step on the back of the shoes of the person in front of me.

Then, as time went on, there would be those comments that every tall person has heard once in his or her life like “Haha...how’s the weather up there?” Like, really Joseph? Are you enjoying the grass down there? How are the worms and the bugs treating you?

And we don’t even talk about my style. The trend back then was Justice. Do you guys remember that store? If you didn’t wear clothes from Justice, you were NOT COOL. But here I am, taller than ever, and I can’t fit into any of the clothes. So where did I shop? At the women’s section of JCPenney.... You hear the crickets too, right? But that was really all I could find that I could fit because of my super long limbs. I mean, I looked HORRENDOUS, but at least the pants reached my ankles.

If you want to learn the rest, check out my podcast episode embedded above!

I’m going to leave it here. Thank you so much for reading this far! I look forward to hearing from you guys on my socials @atallgirlspodcast on Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok. Have an amazing day, night, afternoon, whatever, wherever you are.

Goodnight and goodbyyyyyeee,

India
