Why I Hate The 'Tall Girl Personality' | Redefining What It Means To Be A Tall Girl

Hey hey hey! We are back with another episode of A Tall Girl’s Podcast! So glad you’re here; I hope you’re having an amazing day. Today, as you can probably tell by the title, we are talking about ‘tall girl personality’. We hear that term being thrown around a lot to describe tall girls and their personalities (basically lol). And I HATE that term. You may be thinking, “India, aren’t you tall?” Yes, indeed I am lol. But this whole idea, this whole perception of a tall girl’s personality just doesn’t sit right with me. 

So let me explain what ‘tall girl personality' is; this is coming from a bunch of sources on the Internet, but they all basically say the same thing. Well, let me just ask you: when you think of a tall girl, what do you think of? Confidence. Intelligence. Assertiveness. Elegance. Affluence. Power. Screw it, even a model. It’s 2022 people, not all models are tall and not all tall people are models! But these traits, these ideas are associated with tall women. Why? 

Well, some of these characteristics, like assertiveness, affluence, intelligence, confidence (ennhh, more like arrogance) happen to be associated with men. Yes, I said it. M E N. And according to prehistoric times, men are ‘supposed’ to be tall. Rather, it’s a good thing if they are tall. If they’re tall, they’re more so associated with these traits. The taller they are, the more respected, and consequently more feared, they are. Because they’re these big, domineering forces to the average height or even short person. Kings, warriors, even athletes all happened to be tall (for the most part; I know there are exceptions).
