Hot Girl Summer? More Like Tall Girl Summer (Part 2)

tall girl summer tall blogger podcast for tall women

Hey there! I’m glad you’re here reading this. I hope your day is going FANTASTIC! As you can tell by the title, this is a part 2/a continuation of my last post involving Hot Girl Summer. So, if you haven’t read my last post and listened to my last podcast episode, I recommend you go back and check those out before continuing on. Because this probably won’t make sense if you don’t :/

As you may have read and heard in my last post, “hot girl summer” does not seem like just a physical glow up; it’s all about improving all aspects of your life. So, today, I will be sharing a little bit of what I am going to do this summer in order to “get my life up”. For the full thing, including the entire rundown of my plans and tips, be sure to listen to my podcast episode above! For now, let’s get into it!

1. Being Active

No no no, I don’t mean going to the gym and pumping steel everyday. I’m not a gym goer myself. In fact, I don’t think I’ve actually stepped foot into a gym. The closest I’ve been to one is walking past one to get into a Dunkin’ Donuts. Being active doesn’t mean doing anything strenuous. But moving your body can be beneficial in SO MANY WAYS.

I’ve learned during the period of lockdown and remote learning that sitting around all day in your house is not good physically and mentally. And I realized that I took being in school and outside all day for granted. I was stuck in my house sun up to sun down and I felt myself getting more and more sad about my situation. But, I couldn’t choose to stay like that forever, and I didn’t. Moving my body, such as going for walks and doing light weights, really helped improve my outlook on life as well as my focus and desire to want to stay in school (yes, I’m in summer school) and do other things. Whether you do a stretch in between classes or do a little dance workout on YouTube, I assure you that there will be a drastic change in your life. Most importantly, LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. If it doesn’t feel right, stop right then and there and find something else that works for you. If it feels right, then carry on my friend.

2. Summer Reading

I know, I know. If you’re not like me, you thought that you were done with learning and books and all that for a couple months. But just because you’re out of school, doesn’t mean the learning should stop. You should aim to learn something new every single day, no matter how big or small. Finding books to read can help you do just that.

Now, it doesn’t have to be a long 1,000 page book (do those even exist) on the philosophy of life. These can be books from your favorite genre (like mine are horror and mystery) or even self-improvement books. This summer, I chose to read self-improvement books because I wanted to take the time to really focus on what I want to do with my life while I have extra time on my hands. I have a few projects underway (this podcast being one of them) and I want to get a headstart before school comes back in session. I think that this is the best time to gain more knowledge and better yourself.
