How To Find Confidence Through Fashion As A Tall Girl | Disproving Styling Tips for Tall Girls

And we’re back! Did I say that I was going to do an episode reacting to Tall Girl 2? Maybe. Is this said episode? No haha. But that is on the calendar for next week, so stay tuned for that!
Today, I wanted to go back to talking about fashion for tall women because as we all know this is probably one of the trickiest parts about being tall. It’s extremely hard to find clothes that fit our length (especially the taller we are) and honestly it can play a huge part in our self esteem.
This episode is inspired by some tall fashionistas that I follow on Instagram (by the way, totally follow me on Instagram @atallgirlspodcast) and I just love seeing them experiment with different colors and patterns and textures and even seeing them design clothes for tall women. I truly admire their confidence to just “show up and show out” as tall women in the fashion scene and we all need that confidence they have.
So, today I just wanted to talk about building confidence as a tall woman through fashion.
Experimentation
Yes, like what we see those chemists in movies do: mixing different colors, trying to find something new and innovative. If you don’t already know this, I’m super big on the notion “you never know unless you try”. We all have probably searched up on Google “styling tips for tall girls” or “how to dress as a tall girl” and let’s face it, the results are not the best (well, unless they’re coming from tall fashion bloggers themselves!).
They tell us to limit ourselves even more than we’re already limited. We’re not supposed to wear v-necks or we’re told to ditch the stripes. And it’s like why? If we like them, why not wear them? I can say that v-neck tops may not look the best on me, but I absolutely LOVE a v-neck when I’m wearing a dress. You can even look through your feed and see a bunch of other tall girls wearing v-necks.
What I’m trying to say is find what works best for you. Just because one thing doesn’t work, doesn’t mean a variation won’t. Don’t like stripes? Try zigzags or even swirls (do they even have swirl patterns???)! Why stick with monochromatic when you can mix and match different colors? We’re already sticking out in the crowd because of our height, why not attract the attention for a little longer?
Finding what works for you and not being afraid to step outside of your comfort zone is the way to go.
