Hot Girl Summer? More Like Tall Girl Summer 

Welcome! It’s nice to see you here today! Well I can’t ACTUALLY see you, but….it’s nice that you’re here reading this right now. As I am typing this it is BLAZING HOT in my room, which is very fitting for today’s topic! This summer is going to be hot girl summer: tall girl edition. 

Honestly speaking, I never really knew the actual definition of the term “hot girl summer”. So, guess what I did. I looked it up in our favorite dictionary of all time: Urban Dictionary. Now, if you don’t know what Urban DIctionary is, it is probably one of the most vulgar dictionaries out there. If you hear any dirty term on the street, Urban Dictionary will have a definition for it. So, I didn’t really know what to expect. 

Whenever I hear “hot girl summer”, I think of physical glow ups: fake tans, new wardrobes, “hair did'', “nails did”, the whole shebang. But, I was pleasantly surprised by the definition that Urban Dictionary brought up. According to it, the definition of “hot girl summer” is “a summer full of fun and girls being unapologetically themselves, having fun, loving yourself, and being you.” I’m telling you right now, I was SHOCKED. This sounds very similar to the “that girl” trend that’s going around regardless. Either way, I absolutely love this mindset.

This is completely opposite from the whole physical glow up idea to fit society’s appearance standards, which I can say is definitely taken to a whole new level (for the worst) by social media. Instead, I really prefer the idea of better-ing YOU. It’s not just a physical glow up (if that’s even on your list this summer). It’s about that MENTAL glow up, that EMOTIONAL glow up, that SPIRITUAL glow up, and everything else in between. Do what makes you feel good and at peace and what makes you feel like you can take on the world. Stay tuned for my part 2.
