Tall Girl Reacts To Tall Girl Problems (Part 3): Modelling, Almost Being Kidnapped, Playing Footsie, and More!

And we’re back! Today, we’re continuing the series on Tall Girl Reacts to Tall Girl Problems! If you don’t know what that is, it’s a series where I, a tall girl, react to different tall girl problem posts to see if they are actually something that tall girls can relate to. So far, it’s been about 50/50, which is kind of concerning I might add, and today, we’ll see if we can break that tie. Before moving forward, I completely recommend that you check out Part 1 and Part 2 of the series.

Let’s get started!

“No, I'm not a model.”

I feel this all around because if you’re tall, guy or girl, people automatically assume that you could be a model. And I genuinely don’t understand that. It’s 2021! Going into 2022! There are short models. Just like how there are skinny and plus-sized models. The world is evolving. And some tall people don’t even want to become models, and that’s fine too.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m flattered that you would think that I’m a model. Because, personally, I know I am beautiful (omg I sound so egotistical), but I never really saw myself at “model status”. Like, I feel as though models are a different breed of beautiful. Honestly, I can see that almost as a compliment. It can get annoying after a while, but I feel like someone can be complimenting you with this. But yes, this is DEFINITELY a tall girl problem.

I feel a storytime brewing! So, I remember I was about 9 or 10 years old, and I was out with my dad, when a woman came up to both of us and asked my dad “Excuse me, is this your daughter?” He responded with yes. And the woman said “Ooohh she’s very tall….and very beautiful.” and stared at me with a creepy smile. Like you know from that movie Truth or Dare when the kids got possessed, they got a creepy smile. That was the smile. Oof, I just got shovers.

Anyways, as my dad was responding (still staring at me by the way), she literally cuts him off and says, “You should put her in modelling!” and hands him a card. I guess he got super weird vibes and just took the card, grabbed my hand, and sped to the car. I remember looking back at her and we made weird eye contact as my dad drove away. Anyways, we were going to the mall, so fast forward to the mall. We were just walking around, window shopping, the usual.

We were going up the escalators and GUESS who I SAW once I got off. The creepy woman from earlier, whispering to some other lady I did not recognize. I mean, I didn’t think anything of it at first because it’s a mall and everyone goes there at some point. It’s probably just a coincidence, right? I thought that until the lady that the first creepy woman from before was talking to CAME UP TO ME AND MY DAD. Wanna know what happens next? Check out the full podcast episode below!
