Can We Go Back To Doing Things For The Plot?

I’m jumping straight into today’s podcast episode because today we are quite literally talking about doing things for the plot lol. Summer is basically here. Well…not really because I still have this last final on Monday and then I have an essay due the following day but by the time this episode is up and running, that’ll be over with. HOWEVER, the weather isn’t ‘summering’ anymore; she’s like in the 60s.

But ya know what, summer is a mindset. It’s that “doing it for the plot” mindset. Funny thing, I literally said this to my mom the other day, but she had no clue what I was talking about. She was like, “Do what for the who?” Yes, EXACT WORDS. So that was a brutal reminder for me that not everyone knows exactly what that phrase means. 

So, “doing it for the plot” is “doing it for the vibes” but like on steroids. Oh my gosh, that sounds so dumb LOL. Like it sounded so much better in my head. So like doing it for the vibes is like watching the sunset with your friends or taking yourself out on a date or taking a tour of your city. It’s for the giggles; it’s for a good time. Now, FOR THE PLOT. That’s like main character type energy, having the power to completely switch up the plot of the larger narrative, which is your life. 

Wearing 7-inch heels when you’re already 6 feet tall? For the plot. Talking to random strangers in a fake accent? For the plot. Travelling to the other side of the planet with only $7.24 in your bank account? FOR THE PLOT. Ok but why was that last one oddly specific??????
