Now that all of that is out the way, there is actually this TikTok video that's going viral right now, and it's just absolutely horrendous. I will say that a lot of people are doing response videos to it, a lot of women, especially just speaking out against basically how horrendous this video is. And no T no shade to the original creator of this video. Don't go to try. First of all, I can't even find the original video for the life of me, So when I play it in a few seconds, it's literally just gonna be like little snippets that I kind of clicked together from different response videos that I found. And no T no shaye to this creator. Don't go and try to find her and like say hateful things towards her or whatever. It's like everybody's a title to their own opinion. Just don't be harmful or shameful towards others. Yeah, there's a lot of responses, a lot of response videos on this that's kind of circulating, and it probably is circulating more than the actual original video. Maybe she took it down, who knows, you know what. I'm just gonna play the video for you guys, so we could I started on this topic. The thing more of you girls needs to start acting your weight. You heard that correctly act your weight, because if you are one hundred and sixty pounds, I don't want to see any attitude. I want you to be giving all that attitude to the treadmill, give it to your nutritionist, give it to that polates class, which is basically stretching, because like, look at you, how are you You're gonna give a skinny girl attitude when you're faby honestly, really like just be And here's the thing. This is like the hot crazy matrix, but it applies to like girl, if you're fat, I don't want to see any attitude. If you're gonna give me attitude, you. Better be skinny. You better be one hundred and fifteen pounds to come for me. You heard that correctly. If you want to come for me, you better weigh one hundred and fifteen pounds. And then I respect it. I'm like, you know what, you are a skinny you're even skinnier than me. I'll accept the action. But if you're fatter than meat, don't come for me. Anyways. And that's on insecure fatties. Don't be an insecure fatty because honestly, like, act your weight. You know what I mean, Act your weight. More people need to hear that. That is the tough truth. But a lot of yous are not acting your weight, clearly not pulling your weight in any way, shape or form or workhout, class or anything. But start pulling your weight. Start acting your weight, girl. Bye. Honestly, content around weight and weight loss can be extremely harmful for tall women because more times than not it fails to consider height and body structure as well. And a tall women, there's already a lot of scrutiny around our bodies, so that type of content can honestly be damaging for us to see. I don't know, I just find this video to be very distasteful, very disgusting, very horrid. A lot of negative words to describe that video, and that's just my personal opinion. Is honestly very disturbing, And I don't know, I just feel like there's a lot of things wrong or maybe inaccurate with that video. For example, kind of implying that you need to hit the treadmill and be on the treadmill more in order to lose weight, which there are a lot of studies that say cardio or treadmill or whatever alone doesn't necessarily contribute to weight loss in the way people think it might. There's a whole lot of other factors involved in that, but again, of course do your research, but also the overall thing with just saying, oh, if you're one hundred and sixty pounds, just implying that you're quote unquote fat or overweight, and if you want to have attitude or have something to say or speak to her, you have to be one hundred and fifteen pounds, basically kind of implying that being one hundred and sixty pounds is terrible and being one hundred and fifteen is the ideal weight. That's what I feel like it's implying, and honestly, that's so disgusting. It literally reminds me of Mean Girls the musical, not like the movie, the for real, for real musical like on Broadway that I saw Whoa This was like years ago. Hearing that reminded me of like lyrics from one of the songs called Meet the Plastics. Definitely go look it up. I actually like, Okay, the song itself is like the words. The lyrics is crazy, but it's kind of a vibe, kind of catchy. Just don't think too much about the words because even for example, the lyrics that I'm literally about to say for Regina's part, She's like, I'm the prettiest poison you've ever seen. I never weigh more than one point fifteen. That's crazy, And you know that kind of also ties into her obsession with maintaining a lower weight to the point where she was eating when Katie was giving her those it was weight gain bars, but she told Regina that it was actually weight loss bars, and Regina was eating up those weight loss bars, that it was going to help her lose weight when a reality helped her gain weight, and so forth and so on. It kind of like played into that the lyrics highlighted her obsession with maintaining that I guess one hundred and fifteen pound weight. I know that's like a little bit off topic, so we're gonna bring it back in. But honestly, I am glad to see the amount of women overall different heights, different bodies, different backgrounds. I'm glad to see the amount of women kind of speaking out against this toxic thought pattern and their response videos. But also, and that's the issue, I don't say these videos and I see it, and I really need to do that. But essentially, I found this video of a tall girly doing a response to it and she was saying, hey, like, I'm a tall girly. I'm six feet tall and I am one hundred and sixty pounds. And when she was showing like her body and the camera, that sounds weird saying that, but like you visually see her body type as she's talking to the camera. She's on the slimmer side. And I'm not saying that in a way that promotes that type of body type. But with the creator, the original creator basically implying that one hundred and sixty pounds is fat. When you look at this one hundred and sixty pounds, six foot tall woman, it literally does not She does not look quote unquote fat. Essentially, Also, let me know if you guys hate the word fat, because I hate the word I don't like the word skinny. So if the word fat is also like offensive, please let me know, and I'll try my best to stop saying that. But she was basically saying, yeah, like this is what my body looks like. I'm one hundred and sixty pounds. Definitely not fat at all. By the way, here, I'm o marathon metals. And I was like, period, you go girl. So those response videos kind of calling her out for the toxic rhetoric, is that the correct term the toxic mindset that she's kind of spreading. Seeing all those responses, it's just been very heartwarming seeing that a lot of people kind of understand that that's a bit crazy what she's saying, especially when you're not taking a lot of other things into consideration, including height. And you know, there are studies out there that show that naturally tall women weigh more than their shorter counterparts, because again, we have more muscle, we have more bone, we have more skin, more body overall, so we're going to weigh more, and so it's it's quite expected normal to hear. Listen, everybody's different weights, and I'm not saying what is an ideal weight here? Always talk to your doctor or a health professional. It also depends on how tall you are, too, because five ten versus six five two completely different things. But when you hear one sixty, one, seventy, even like two hundred and to ten, like in the tall girl community, it's so much more common than you think. I don't know. To me, in my personal opinion, it's almost expected that that's the case. And you know, it's also like this trend that went around at one point in time to when our president had that viral clip of they're eating the dogs, they're eating the cats, but they clipped the part where it's like they're eating, they're eating, they're eating, they're eating, and it just literally had a bunch of different clips a tall woman eating like different things. The text on the screen will say tall girls eating twenty four seven are basically something along the lines of tall girls wanting to eat twenty four seven. Tall women when the to eat twenty four to seven, it's like a thing that tall women are always hungry, they always want to eat something and look key. Do any of their tall girlies like eating like a lot? I'm pretty sure there's some type of science behind tall women tall people having pretty big appetites, or maybe not. Everybody's different. I don't know. I just know that I love eating. As tall girlies, we tend to burn more calories because we weigh more, so it takes more calories to kind of like maintain our weight. There's studies on this, y'all, but of course, please do your own research, but it makes sense that tall women would require more calories. Obviously is dependent on how much you already weigh on top of your physical activity and so forth. But in general, because tall women naturally weigh more than their shorter counterparts, they're going to need more calories to be able to exist. But of course everybody's situation, body structure, so forth is very, very different. But that video that I played earlier of the original creator talking about you know, one sixty being and a third habit attitude, take it up with the treadmill. Whatever she said, it kind of coincides with skinny Talk. I'm not gonna get too deep into it because there's a lot of commentary around skinny talk. Because there's a lot of commentary around skinny talk, but I'll just give a very brief summary. Skinny talk kind of became this movement that promotes extreme thinness, restrictive eating, and rapid weight loss. And Live Schmidt was kind of like the catalyst and the primary face for this, and her tough love and rude approach was very similar to the other lady that was in the video earlier. Honestly, Live Schmidt she took it to a whole new dimension, even started a whole subscription based community with it, made so much money off of it, Like it was it got pretty big. But again there's other commentary on that, so definitely check that out. But things like that can lead to body surveillance. Tell women often experienced body surveillance because of commentary around our weight, feeling like we take up too much space, and even being called big, and that can lead to a lot of self consciousness and overthinking about our bodies. Additionally, it can lead to toll women wanting to shrink themselves, and that includes adjusting their posture and slouching or minimizing their personality, talking in like a quieter tone, maybe not being assertive when they need to be, and even disordered eating. And that's the scary part about weight. Content around weight, content about weight loss and being in the quote unquote ideal weight. It plays into tall women thinking that they need to be smaller. And while they can't control their height for the most part, there are height reduction surgeries out there. Should you be doing it? I don't know if I would recommend that, but that's just my opinion. It can't really control their height for the most part, but they can control their weight. Let's listen to a tall girly talk about this. Are there any other tall girls who grew up with an eed because you were so tall, Like I'm six feet tall. I grew up I was told my whole life, and I hated how objective I I was because of my height. Everywhere I went like it was just always about my body, always about how tall I was. So I developed an ede because I wanted to get smaller in the areas I could control. I had it for a good ten years. I'm luckily past that point in my life and I've healed since then. But I know I can't be the only person who's tall who probably had an experience like that, And if you have, I want to hear from you you currently are going through that, Just know that I love you, I'm here for you, and there's. A better way. You don't have to shrink yourself to be in this world, to be deserving of love and to be beautiful. There's even a story on Reddit about how a tall woman feels like her height played a major role in developing anorexia. She felt as though she could only be pretty as a tall girly if she were thin. I actually did an episode on that are tall woman only acceptable if they're thin? And she basically wanted to disappear because she stuck out. Tall women already feel this way. We already stick out in the crowd. We already feel larger than our peers, larger than our shorter friends, and so forth. And when we add that weight content to the whole mix of it, it can just send us into even more of a spiral. And that's why I keep saying that, you know, the weight content, the weight loss content, that stuff could be extremely harmful for us because it can lead to the behaviors that I said earlier with minimizing ourselves as slouchain that's like the less extreme part of it, all the way to body surveillance and even disordered eating so that we can lose weight and feel smaller in a way like the whole oh, talk to me when you're one hundred and fifteen pounds or something that she said along those lines, Like it's just crazy because the likelihood of a tall woman being one hundred and fifteen pounds is lower than let's say, a woman who's like five to two, five to three. For the fact that tall women have more bono body, more muscle overall. As I said before, So if you're tall girly listening to this right now, and you saw that video, and you know you're one hundred and sixty hundred and seventy one hundred eighty two hundred to ten whatever, howmever many pounds. Please just be very careful, talk to your doctor, talk to a professional, do your own research, and do what works best for you. So yeah, I'm gonna end the episode here. Thank you so much for tuning in. I really appreciate it, and I appreciate you, of course. I was always feel free to hit me up on my socials at a Tell Gross podcast and let me know what you thought about this episode. Have you seen the video that I played earlier? Have you heard it? Have you seen the response videos about it? Like, what are your thoughts on that? What are your thoughts on weight and weight loss content as a tall girly, Like do you watch that or do you only watch from creators who are around the same height as you, or do you just choose not to participate in that at all? Let me know, let's have an open conversation about this. I really need to be responding to comments and dms and stuff. I'm going to be trying to do that in the next week. But yeah, share your stories, let me know your thoughts and until then, I will catch you guys in the next one. Good night and goodbye.
