Y’all I’m mad HYPE right now lol. I literally just had my first performance live in front of an actual audience after 4 years of not performing. FOUR WHOLE YEARS! Isn’t that insane? So, if you didn’t know, I play the bass clarinet. I started in high school, but then lockdown hit and then playing with groups stopped (this was toward the end of my senior year) and then I spent my first 2 years of college online, and THEN I tried joining a music club at my school last semester and that didn’t really work out so I’m in my new, current club now and I’m having the time of my life.
Was the performance a dumpster fire? Just a little bit. ONLY A LITTLE BIT. Lol lemme stop because we were pretty good. And I had lots of fun. I really needed that night because it FINALLY feels like I'm living the college experience that I’ve been craving for so long and I’m here for it. I was so close to saying that it was the perfect way to end the semester, but she is FAR FROM over. I still have all these finals that I need to study for. Mad projects to turn in. Am I ready to cry? Yes…
And this one class in particular is just a FAT NO. Oh my gosh and actually this class was the inspiration of today’s episode. So, this business course was going over the differences in leadership behavior in men and women in the workplace and there was a literal chart for these characteristics. More specifically, a freaking t-chart. Hello???
But anyways, one side had ‘feminine norms’ and it basically described that people that had these behaviors focused more on building relationships with people, stayed quiet until people were done talking, and are more likely to voice their uncertainties. On the ‘masculine norms’ side, it insinuated that people with these behaviors are less likely to voice their uncertainties, they talk over other people, and they focus more on competition than building relationships. BTW don’t quote me on this lol; I vaguely remember the chart.
So, what did my professor have to say about this? And what’s the point of all this discussion about a T-chart??? Tune in to the full episode below for more!
Thank you so so much for tuning in to this episode; I really appreciate it and I appreciate you.
